PUSICH: “It’s very simple. Porto scored 5 goals, we scored 3 goals. “I am proud of this young team.”
The last 6th round match of Champions League Group C was played between Porto and Shakhtar Donetsk on December 13. The match ended with the score of 5:3 for the “dragons”.
After the meeting, the head coach of the Donetsk club Marino Pusic He commented on his players’ defeat as follows:
“Unfortunately, we lost this match. It’s very simple: Porto scored five goals, but we only managed three. Three away goals were too many, but not enough. Porto is a very good team and it is difficult to play against them. They always play at a high tempo.
They started the match better and scored goals. We got back into the game, took the lead, found a few positions, but made two or three unnecessary mistakes. Too much at this level.
It’s a bit weird to lose and be proud of the players. But we came here to fight, to play and to offer people good football against very good opponents. My players did their best and fought until the end. I’m proud of this young team. Pusic said games like this are very important for the development of young players.
