Real Madrid President Florentino Perez is not giving up on the idea of creating a Super League that would be designed to compete with, or even replace, the tournaments under the auspices of UEFA and, in particular, the Champions League.
According to the publication Vozpopuli, the president of Los Blancos is already in contact with 50-60 clubs and together they can form two or three parts of the new tournament. Matches will be played on Tuesdays and Thursdays, on the same days as the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League.
After the European Court of Justice announced its decision regarding the dispute between UEFA and the Super League on December 21, the clubs are expected to decide whether to remain in the international tournament system of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). ) or join the new project from next year’s season or the 2025/2026 season.
