UEFA punishes Bayern for incident in Champions League match
Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) announced the sanctions imposed “Bavaria” For the behavior of the fans in the 6th round match of the Champions League group stage, in which the team defeated Sporting with a score of 3:1.
The club will face a suspended penalty in the form of partial closure of the stands in the Champions League 7th round match against Union, a fine of 30 thousand euros and a partial closure of the fan sector with a two-year trial period.
Bayern were fined €70,000 for the match against Sporting, as well as the match against Arsenal at the Emirates for throwing objects, disrupting public order and chanting by fans that was not in accordance with the format of the sporting event.
During the match against Sporting, the fans of the Munich club staged a fire show. At the beginning of the second half, the Arena Munich pitch was covered in heavy smoke as fans lit more than 80 flares at the same time.
After six matches played in the Champions League group stage, Bayern Munich is in second place with 15 points.
