Shearer: Alexander-Arnold pardon brought shame to Liverpool
In the final of the Champions League, Real Madrid beat Liverpool with a single goal from Vinisius Junior to become the winner of the tournament.
Legendary England striker Alan Shearer spoke of the positional pardon of Merseysiders defender Trent Oleksandr-Arnold, which forced him to concede a fatal goal.
“Trent Alexander-Arnold slacked off at that moment. Vin didn’t see Vinisius Junior behind him. Trent, demonstrating last night’s nameless fondness and passion, often replaying situations like 50 to 50.”
I would not have thought what kind of victory could win in such situations. Vin set the bar high, but sadly it all ended with him, who surprised his pardon,” – quoting Shearer’s words sportskeeda.
