UEFA: “Teams must comply with countries’ vaccination regulations”
Speaking to ESPN, UEFA stressed that teams competing in European competitions must comply with the country’s vaccination regulations. Danger for unvaccinated Chelsea and Real players.
France has tightened regulations on how to deal with the coronavirus, which means there must be no exceptions for unvaccinated players wishing to enter the country. This raises questions about what will happen to the unvaccinated players from Champions League teams and other European players who want to enter France.
UEFA took a stand through its post on ESPN, emphasizing the need to comply with local regulations: “The conditions under which games are played in specific countries are a matter for the authorities of each country. Each team must respect and apply the rules of each country where the game is played. There will be new instructions for the knockout phase.”
Paris Saint-Germain host Real on February 15 and Chelsea travel to Lille on March 16 for the second round of the round of 16 of Europe’s top club competition.
This means that based on all of this, the Merengues and the Blues will not have unvaccinated footballers available as they will not be able to enter France.
