‘Bell’ on Walker loses three City games in Champions League
Pep Guardiola will have Kyle Walker withdrawn from Manchester City’s next two Champions League games against Sporting for the quarter-finals of the tournament, while he will not count on him should he qualify for the next knockout stages either by UEFA.
Kyle Walker will not be able to offer his services to Manchester City for their next Champions League fixtures against Sporting in the 8th stage of the tournament after UEFA imposed a three-match penalty.
The British defender was initially handed a one-game ban but the UEFA Disciplinary Body, which met on Tuesday (25/01), reviewed the case and increased the sentence to three games. The reason is a free kick by Walker against Andre Silva, the Englishman was sent off with a red card in the game against Leipzig (1-2) on December 7th.
Therefore, Pep Guardiola will not have the 31-year-old available for our Sporting, while Walker will also lose the next game if the Citizens qualify for the quarter-finals of the most important cross-club competition.
