Marseille: From now on Alvaro Gondaleth
Alvaro Gonthaleth is absent from Marseille training sessions after being left out of the team and is negotiating his contract termination.
THE Alvaro Gonthaleth is located in Spain and has been removed from Marseille commitments with the approval of Jorge Sampaoli and the club’s management.
The Spain centre-back has been a key player for Marseille for the last two years but this year he won’t be counted and talks have already started to end his contract, according to RMC Sport.
The 32-year-old footballer was acquired from Villarreal in the summer of 2020 and has signed a contract until the summer of 2024 but he won’t fulfill it.
“The situation is difficult for his future, it’s not clear”said Sampaoli, among others, in a press conference.
Although Gonthaleth is on Marseille’s European list, all indications are that he will not be used for the games against PAOK for the quarter-finals of the Europa Conference League.
