Conference League
Individually in Velontrom, the main band of PAOK fans
The majority of PAOK is obliged to go individually to Velontrom for tonight’s game against Marseille (7/4, 22:00, COSMOTE SPORT 2 HD and LIVE by Sportish) after the plan for a meeting place and an organized course by the police was refused.
Tonight PAOK will be hosted by Marseille (April 7th, 10:00 p.m., COSMOTE SPORT 2 HD and LIVE by Sportish) for the quarter-finals of the Europa Conference League.
The situation in Marseille is tense due to incidents starting on Thursday night (April 7th).
In the midst of all this came the decision of the local police (who have already announced the arrest of two Greeks) not to allow the organized passage of the main group of Dikefalos fans to Velontrom.
Despite pressure from the official PAOK and UEFA to the contrary, it was decided not to set a meeting point in Juliet Square.
Police insist on pledging to escort only the 12 chartered buses, the 7 from Greece and the 5 from Germany. That is, a number of fans not exceeding 600 in total. This means that more than 2500 have to reach their destination individually.
The subway solution is one of the alternatives, but not recommended. Of course, the majority of PAOK fans will travel to the stadium and walk the 6.7km route, with whatever perils that may entail.
It is also understandable that there is great dissatisfaction at both PAOK and UEFA. As is her concern about what might mediate on the way to the velodrome. Consultations will continue if resistance subsides.
