Kantouri: “Positive result, we can achieve something great in Toumba”
Speaking on Cosmote TV, Omar El Kaddouri described the result as positive for PAOK, despite the loss to Marseille (2-1) in the first match between the two teams for the “8” of the Europa Conference League.
Omar El Kantouri was PAOK’s golden substitute at half-time as Dikefalos stayed alive thanks to his own goal in the battle to qualify for Europa Conference League ‘4’. Razvan Lucescu’s team scorer declared after the final of the game against Marseille that PAOK can qualify in Toumba.
Details of what he said on camera at Cosmote TV:
“That’s important to me and the team. Of course I’m happy, but we had to put in another one to keep the result open for the second game. We lost, but the result isn’t dramatic. In Toumba we can achieve great things.
The orders I received were to help the midfielders in defense but also in attack. We had the space to play. Maybe in the first part we lacked the courage, the self-confidence. In the second we played more with the ball and had a few chances to score. I had to concentrate on defense but at the same time try to provide offense.
We’re never happy when we lose, but the result is positive for us. We can take a lot of chances in our stadium. We have the opportunity to achieve something great. It makes us dream. Let’s hope this result will help us for the second game“.
