UEFA opens a file on episodes between Marseille and PAOK fans

UEFA, as expected, asked Marseille and PAOK to apologize for the incidents that took place in the Velodrome stands by fans of both teams.

In an apology from UEFA, Marseille and PAOK were, as expected, called out by fans of both teams before the game started but also after it ended for the episodes that took place in the Velontrom stands.

UEFA issued a statement relating specifically to the events in Marseille, urging the two teams to apologize for almost the same reasons, which have to do with throwing objects, throwing firecrackers and incidents.

The trial before the UEFA Disciplinary Committee will take place on Green Wednesday (20/4), six days after Toumba’s second leg.

The UEFA announcement in detail:

“Following the UEFA Europa Conference League quarter-final match between Marseille and PAOK, which took place in France on 7 April 2022, disciplinary proceedings were initiated in accordance with Article 55 of the UEFA Disciplinary Code (DR).

The allegations against Marseille:

– throw objects – art. 16 (2) (b)

– Throwing firecrackers – Art. 16 (2)

– Episodes – Item no. 16 (2)

– Non-observance of the existence of clearances – Art. 38 SSR

The allegations against PAOK:

– throwing objects, Art. 16 (2) (b)

– Throwing fireworks, Art. 16 (2) (c)

– Transactions that caused damage, Art. 16 (2) (f)

– Episodes, art. 16 (2) (h)

The UEFA Disciplinary Committee (CEDB) will decide on this in due course

In Swiss A ceremony was held in New York for the draw of the Conference League play-off matches, and each team’s bags featured their opponents.
