PAOK: The money he gets from UEFA for progressing in the Europa Conference League

PAOK will receive over 9,000,000 from UEFA for reaching the quarter-finals of the Europa Conference League.

The presence of PAOK in the newly formed Europa Conference League brought him over 9,000,000 euros, a by no means negligible sum, linked in large part to the course of the “biceps”.

Razvan Lucescu’s team started their adventure in the 3rd qualifying round and after consecutive qualifiers they reached the quarterfinals of the tournament.

Its earnings are broken down into four main categories related to presence awards, the club’s competitive performance, presence in European competitions over the past 10 years and media pool.

The first two are the largest income for PAOK. Less for the sums he received in the qualifiers (100,000 euros for each round before the groups), but for the ones that followed. Attendance in the group stage brings in 2,940,000 for the team treasury, 2,800,000 at the end of the season and 140,000 as a clearing rate in October.

Each win in the group is worth 500,000 and after the three against Lincoln Red Ibs (2) and Copenhagen, PAOK secured 1,500,000. Also, the two draws with Slovan gave him a total of 332,000. To this money will be added 184,971 from the new distribution of the remaining UEFA funds from the event and the 325,000 2nd place bonus.

His presence in the round of 16 play-offs against Midtjylland brought him 300,000, twice that amount came from his presence in the round of 16 and the sum of 1,000,000 from the games against Marseille.

Revenue from a team’s historic presence in UEFA competitions accounts for 10% of the total that the European Confederation has in clubs, but for PAOK this amount is significant. The Greek team finishes 6th out of the 32 starters, earning 27 shares out of 44,500 or 1,201,500 in total.

Finally, the income from the market pool should be added to the operations (even UEFA dedicates only 10% of the total amounts allocated to the teams to this source), which is related to each country’s television agreement for its transmission how far the representative of that country has come. Although it is not possible to calculate this amount exactly, since there is no … precedent, it will be very difficult to approach an amount of 1,500,000.

Therefore, PAOK has secured an amount of 8,583,471 to which will be added the money from the final market pool for Greece, but also to deduct in June an amount equal to PAOK as a solidarity contribution, the amount that will be paid to clubs that are affected by the pandemic.
