Lucescu: “The players pushed their limits, it cost us a mistake”
After the exclusion of PAOK from Marseille, Razvan Lucescu referred to the error that led to the French goal, but also to Dikefalos’ trip to Europe.
PAOK played Marseille in Toumba and had the opportunity but lost 1-0 and were eliminated in the quarter-finals of the Conference League. Lucescu stressed on COSMOTE TV and stressed that it cost Dikefalos a mistake.
He also stated that his players pushed their limits on their European trip and played every three days. He also stressed that 15th place in UEFA is not only due to Dikefalos.
Lutsescu’s statements in detail:
For the game: “What we missed was the win. What can I say after that. One mistake cost us. Marseille took advantage of our mistake. With 5-6 clear chances we didn’t hit. We fell against the opposing goalkeeper or didn’t score. The journey to Europe took a long time and the players pushed their limits by playing every three days. “Today we dominated against Marseille, who are second in a league with Messi, Neymar and Ebape.”
For the people’s applause and for Greece’s 15th place: “15th place was not only thanks to PAOK, PAOK simply went further than Olympiakos. “People are proud of their team because they’ve seen them play good football from time to time.”
