Gasperini: “There is absolute chaos in the regulations for the hand”
Gasperini broke out after Atalanta’s exclusion and took up with the referee the game against Leipzig and the application of the regulation.
Leipzig did better in Bergamo, had an unstoppable Christopher Enkunko in their ranks and eventually took the win with them 2-0 thanks to the Frenchman’s two goals against Atalanta for the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
After the game Gasperini was visibly irritated. The coach of the Italian team take the referee of the game against Leipzig and the application of the rule at hand.
Specifically, he mentioned: “The strange thing is that the referee gave a foul for a hand just before and a few minutes later didn’t see the offense and the hand that was made in the area.
“There is complete chaos in the rules for the hand, as even the referee can judge situations differently even with 30 seconds difference.”.
