Champions League, European League, UEFA Conference League – so there were indeed intense days of international protests in the context of the three largest regions of the Old World. All representatives of Ukraine in these three tournaments, unfortunately, again did not have enough strength, and after the recent performance of the Donetsk Shakhtar in Hamburzi in the match against the Portuguese Porto (1:3) we will have a busy day in the future repairs before the starting match of Lugansk Zorya.

The team of now Valeriy Kriventsov, on the recognition of whom it is not official to vote in the new team, began his performances in Quartet B of the third international tournament. The opponents here for our team will be teams from different corners of Europe, unknown in the wide world: the Israeli Maccabi Tel Aviv, the Icelandic Breidablik and the Belgian Ghent.

In fact, the geography is quite loose, and it is quite symbolic in this regard that the first opponent on the field was the “buffalos” themselves, in front of whom stood the striker and foreigner of the national team of Ukraine, Roman Yaremchuk and Roman Bezus clear. Hein Wangasebroek, who loved the “Indians” after all, is also quite unusual, but we could say that during the hours of presence of Ukrainians in Ghent little has changed in terms of the game model.

Without excluding our teams in the international arena this season, and also encouraging the Belgian team to attack the gates of Zorya from the very beginning of the match, it was not unsatisfactory for us. The Lugansk team appeared to have been insufficiently removed from the defense with these hulks, with the understanding that only one Tissoudali was in two bad interests to open the rakhunok. Without scoring, as Capers did afterwards, things were already going well, because goalkeeper Turbaevsky also no longer recognized the hole in himself behind his back.

Gradually Zorya began to go out of shock and already by the middle of the first half we were playing classic football between the most famous teams of Kriventsov, which plays with the three-man ball in depth and sharp passes in the outer zone. Guerrero’s role in the game grew significantly for such minds, but it would have been even more difficult for the Panamanian forward to find free space before half-time.

On the other hand, there was a lot of passivity, as they demonstrated Ghent football both before half time and after the restart, allowing our team to print half of Nagnoyny’s long shot into the hands of proven goalkeeper Rufus. It was true that there was a phenomenal moment due to Capers’ miss over the empty fence in the hour of the finish, so the heads of the Zorya Gravians must still be cold.

Behind the high tempo of the match, a struggle was going on until the first goal was scored, and for the first time all the substitutes at the “men” came to the fore after 65 minutes, and his solo rush to the left flank of Guerrero’s counterattack from between the penalty area, ending with a long-range strike. Immediately afterwards, an unwritten football rule was called for and Zorya missed Gülsager’s cross from the right flank behind the pouch, between the goalkeeper, and a one-shot shot for the same Capers.

It’s good that Kriventsov’s team did not fall apart after this setback and immediately rushed forward, something that most football teams of the super teams did not realize. It ended very badly for them: Kiryukhantsev scored a cross on the right flank of the penalty box and Guerrero hit the far corner at a different pace. This moment did not cause the Sutteva coup in terms of changing the gaming baby, and the guests themselves put pressure on our will. Ale Turbaevsky simply hesitantly packed his military equipment and left the team at a critical moment. What hasn’t happened to our other European Cup ‘fighters’ in so long?

In the coming round, Lugansk Zorya will play an away match against Iceland’s Breidablik and Dutch Ghent will host Israel’s Maccabi Tel Aviv.
