The Belgian Ghent posted a provocative text on its official website about the presentation of its opponent from the group stage of the Conference League – Lugansk Zorya.
“A place with a population of 470,000 Meshkans in the partially occupied/annexed territory of Russia during the time of Ukraine. Many buildings in the area were bombed and thousands of people were killed.
About half of the Meskans are ethnic Russians, and the Russian language is the native language of more than 80% of the population. Both the place and the club are already Russian oriented. This was evident from the fact that the Russian name Zorya (and not the Ukrainian Zorya) had been used in the club’s logo for a long time. “It has been corrected recently,” said Zorya’s presentation on the club’s official website.
However, the later Belgian club recognized his mercy and removed part of the text and deleted the first paragraph.
At the end of the day the match between Lugansk Zorya and Belgian Ghent will take place. You can follow the replay of the fight via online text broadcast at Football.ua.
