Corberan: ‘Kamara was fouled at the last minute, we deserved the draw’
Carlos Corberan, in his statements after Olympiacos’ defeat by Nantes, insisted his team deserved the draw, citing a foul on Aboubakar Kamara before the 2-1 draw.
Olympiacos were defeated 2-1 by Nantes, with the French team scoring the winning goal in the 90+3′. Carlos Corberan, in his remarks to COSMOTE TV, mentioned that there was a foul on Aboubakar Kamara before France’s second goal, while stressing that the Red-Whites deserved the draw but not the win.
Corberan’s statements in detail:
For the game: “I think in the first half we struggled to get in well and have a better image. We improved a bit in the second half. We did some things to fight for the draw, not the win.
The fair result would be a draw. We made it very difficult for ourselves in the last few minutes. Abubakar Kamara also conceded a foul there in the last minute, we had a problem with the defense on the left. The team deserves a draw, not a win.”
For the 3-4-3: “I think it was the best system because the opposing team has big players. So we could defend better, but also attack. The team struggled to organise, to create, they had to be decisive in some key areas.”
What changes for the sequel: “It means we lost a game, one less chance. Olympiacos can never accept that the chances have dwindled. We will do everything to qualify.”
