Martins to the players: “I’m sure we’ll qualify”
Speaking to his players after Olympiacos’ defeat by Atalanta, Pedro Martins stressed, as in his statements, that he believes in the Red-Whites’ qualification.
Olympiacos struggled but lost 2-1 to Atalanta in Bergamo. In the second game against Bergamaski next Thursday (February 24, 7.45 p.m.) he will claim qualification for the round of 16 of the Europa League ahead of Georgios Karaiskakis.
Pedro Martins, in his post-match statements on COSMOTE TV, expressed his belief that Olympiacos will be able to get the ticket to the next stage of the second-placed European inter-club competition.
The Portugal coach wanted to show his players that he believes in them: “I want to give you all a thumbs up for the effort and what you did today. We didn’t deserve to lose as the game went until the 60th minute, but we still need to improve.
I want you to believe that we will pass. I am sure that we will qualify. I believe in you and I know we can make it at home.” specifically mentioned Pedro Martins in the dressing room after the end of the game.
The Olympiacos coach also spoke to them about the Volos game (20/2, 17:15, COSMOTE SPORT 2HD, LIVE Sportish) stressed: “We continue. “We have a difficult league game ahead of us that we need to win.”
