Malinovsky scored the 2-0 draw for Atalanta and urged the world to pray for Ukraine
Malinowski scored Atalanta’s second goal against Olympiakos and celebrated it with a message sent to end the war in his native Ukraine.
Malinovsky gave Atalanta a two-goal lead with a shot from the penalty spot in the 66th minute, and the Ukrainian lifted his shirt as he celebrated, wanting to send a clear message about the war Russia is waging on his homeland. The Ukrainian lifted his shirt and wrote the message: “No war in Ukraine” while making the characteristic gesture with his hand asking everyone to pray for his homeland.
The international midfielder was logically influenced by events back home, but he didn’t show it during the game against Olympiakos as he was one of the best in his team.
