The sheriff’s mission will undertake a special trip to return to Moldova from Portugal as the airports at its base are closed due to the war in Ukraine.

The Sheriff’s game in Portugal ended on a poor note after being eliminated on penalties by Braga for the Europa League round of 16 draw.

The penalty shootout is not the only hurdle the Moldovans had to overcome as they had to return to base despite the airports being closed due to the war in neighboring Ukraine.

The Moldovans had planned this and booked a charter flight to Bacau, Romania.

The city is 150 km south of the border with Moldova, and from there the Mission will hire a bus to enter the country, covering a total of 300 km before reaching Tiraspol.
