Atalanta – Leipzig 0: 2: Enkunku sent them to the semi-finals of the Europa League

Leipzig clinched a superb 2-0 win over Atalanta starring and top scorer Christopher Enkunko in Bergamo to advance to the semi-finals of the Europa League where they will meet Braga’s winners – Rangers.

Leipzig did better in Bergamo, had an unstoppable Christopher Enkunko in their ranks and eventually took the win with them 2-0 thanks to the Frenchman’s two goals against Atalanta for the quarter-finals of the Europa League.

Combined with the 1-1 draw in Germany, Domenico Tentesco’s team advanced to the semi-finals where they await winners Braga – Rangers.

The guests came out stronger against a deformed Italian team with many changes of face. The game was evenly matched until, in the 18th minute, Enkunku took advantage of Conrad Limer’s assist and opened the scoring from close range.

The hosts reacted and started to attack more organized and determined. Some good endgames came out and with the beginning of the 2nd part they almost won a penalty. Benjamin Henrikhs, who was against the wall, tried to protect his face for a foul, but the ball found him in his hand. The referee decided on a penalty, but after VAR’s intervention, he saw the phase in the video and realized that the German defender had managed to put his hand on the body, causing him to reverse the decision.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s players kept pushing for the equaliser, with Luis Muriel coming on for the purpose and drawing level with Alexei Miranchuk shortly afterwards, but the next goal belonged to Leipzig. Juan Musso defeated Enkunku in the 86th minute and in the new duel the Frenchman defeated the Argentinian with a penalty to make it 2-0.
