Barcelona – Eintracht 2: 3: The Germans derailed Xavi’s train
Eidracht beat Barcelona 3-2 at Camp Nou, supported by 30,000 fans. Two goals from Philippe Kostic and one from Rafael Bore for the Germans who meet West Ham in the Europa League semi-finals.
THAT unity was a team away from winning six straight games and Barcelona trained from the moment Xavi took over. The final 3-2 in the “Camp Nou” did not belong to the hosts, but to the numerous guests who qualified with a historic entry into the semi-finals of the Europa League.
Two goals from Philip Kostic and one from Rafael Bore sealed Germany’s triumph in front of 30,000 fans, although not everyone had a ticket. They meet West Ham in the next stage and are aiming for a European final for the first time in four decades.
The Germans looked the Catalans in the eye from the first moment and only won a penalty from Eric Garcia in the 4th minute. Marc Andre ter Stegen suffered a 4th penalty in the last 40 minutes of the game and Philip Kostic defeated him 1-0.
The hosts immediately countered and found the moments, especially with Pierre Emerick Obameyang (and at one stage with Ronald Araούjo), that could lead them to a draw. However, Ter Stegen was not left out as he also had to intervene in some of the Germans’ fights. He failed to do that in the 36th minute when he reacted poorly to a long-range shot by Rafael Bore to make it 2-0.
Contrary to what happened after the first goal, the Barcelona players looked stunned by the second and remembered before Xavi. The German counterattack remained threatening and Ter Stegen prevented it 3-0.
The second half started full of tricks. The Ultras of the hosts behind Kevin Trapp’s house returned to their seats 10 minutes late, protesting that they were letting German fans into the stadium without a ticket. Shortly after, when they called for a one-hand penalty, the referee determined that there was a problem with the intercom and phase control was delayed.
All of this came at the expense of Barcelona, who conceded a third goal from Kostic in a defensive oligarchy. It was too late, although Frankie de Jong, Andama Traore and Serginio Dest had joined the game. Luke de Jong and Memphis Depay were the Barcelona manager’s last moves but Sergio Busquets was the one who sent the ball into the net twice. The first was stopped by VAR for offside, the second was scored normally at 90+1′ with a fantastic volley.
But there was no time, even if the referee took 9 minutes. In the 10th minute of delay, Obit Edika took a penalty, received the second yellow card in the delay and Memphis Depay reduced to 2-3. No cross came after the referee’s final whistle, however, and Eintracht reached the semi-finals of a European tournament for the first time since the 1979/1980 season when they reached the UEFA Cup final (loss to Gladbach).
BARCELONA: Ter Stegen, Mingetha (62′ Dest), Araούjo, Garcίαa (70′ L. De Jong), Alba, Gavi, Busquets, Pedri (46′ Fr. De Jong), Dembele, Obamayang (61′ Traore), Torres ( 80′ payment)
CONJUNCTION: Trap, Toure, Hinteregger, Entika, Knauf (90+9′ Chandler), Jakic, Rode (80′ Khrushchev), Kostic, Lindstrom (80′ Hauge), Bore (90+9′ Hasbebe), Kamanda

Zinchenko announces Nottingham Forest’s Europa League victory over Utrecht
Ukrainian defender Nottingham Forest Alexander Zinchenko He shared his feelings after his team beat Utrecht (2:1) in the main round of the Europa League.
“It’s a great feeling. First of all, I’m back. Secondly, it’s an incredible feeling to win a match. Getting three points today was very important for us. As you can see, it was a difficult match. But at the end of the match, I think we got what we wanted and let’s continue like that.”
“As a defender you always want to keep a clean sheet, but unfortunately we couldn’t do that today. So it’s something we need to work on in the future.”
“This is one of those matches where whoever wins the most challenges in different areas of the field will win the match. Today we won many more goals which helped us a lot in the game. But to be honest, even the opportunities we created, including me, we should have scored and finished this match earlier,” said Zinchenko.
Nottingham Forest is in 11th place in the rankings with 11 points after 6 matches in the Europa League this season.

Sports doctor criticizes Nottingham head coach over Zinchenko
sports doctor Dmitry Babelyuk He was not happy with the decision made by Sean Dyche, the head coach of English Nottingham, in the match against Dutch Utrecht in the Europa League (2-1).
The Foresters’ coach has given Ukraine national team defender Alexander Zinchenko a place in the starting squad after the player missed nine matches due to injury.
“These old-school coaches never cease to amaze. In 2025, with the advancement of sports science and medicine, I don’t understand how it is possible to release a player from the winger position for a full 90 minutes at the same time after two muscle injuries.
First, Moyes did this to Mikolenko, which led to Vitaly’s relapse. Now Dyche makes the same obvious mistakes.
Understanding that Zinchenko is a player who has regularly suffered from muscle problems in recent seasons; injured twice at Nottingham in the last three months; Having not played for the last six weeks, I cannot imagine how anyone could be so negligent in getting a player into top playing form.
This is not often seen in the new generation of coaches such as Thomas Frank or Enzo Mareschi, but the old ones continue to rely on their own emotions, leaving players in danger of unnecessary relapses.
I hope everything goes well for Sasha and he returns to his best form, but playing 90 minutes at a time after two months of treatment is outright stupidity in modern football at the top level,” Babelyuk raged.

DYCH: “There was no such plan. Zinchenko did an incredible job”
Nottingham Forest manager Sean Dyche The performance of the players who returned to the field after their injuries in the 6th round match against Utrecht in the Europa League (2-1) was evaluated as follows:
“I’m happy for a lot of the players. Douglas Louis only trained for two days. I don’t usually do that, but he talked to me and said he felt good. He wanted to play.”
“Zinchenko did an incredible job” for the full 90 minutes. We didn’t have such a plan, but we can only make a certain number of changes.
Murillo returned after a week’s illness. We had to be careful with him.
It was difficult to make sound decisions about who would play, who would not play, and how many minutes he would stay on the field. But in the end everything went well and I am very happy.”
