Europa League
Kopeyki Dinamo. How much did Ukrainian clubs earn in European competitions?
Fotcalc has published data on the earnings of Ukrainian clubs in the European arena in the 2023/24 season.
Zorya Lugansk earned approximately $4.85 million from this European Cup campaign. 2.94 million of these are paid for entering the Conference League group. For each victory in the group stage (there were 2) the team received another 500 thousand, and for the draw with Gent the Luhansk team was paid 166 thousand. Interestingly, they also pay 100 thousand euros to be eliminated in the Europa League qualifying round. Zarya received another 66.4 thousand euros from the undistributed prize fund. The last tranche of 578.5 thousand is UEFA’s standard payment for the club’s ten-year coefficient, which is still approximate.
“Dnepr-1” also earned some money, despite its shameful exit from all European cups. Dnipro team received 100 thousand euros for each qualifying round it participated in (Champions League qualifiers 2nd round, European qualifiers 3rd round, Champions League qualifiers 4th round). The “compensation” to the team that was eliminated in the last round of the Conference League was 750 thousand euros.
Dynamo Kiev had a no less embarrassing performance in the European competition, but scored slightly fewer points than Dnipro. “White and Blue” participated in only two qualifying rounds, so they earned only 200 thousand from them. A consolation prize of 750 thousand euros was also given to the Kiev team, which was eliminated in the play-off qualifying round.
Vorskla from Poltava was the team that won the least among the Ukrainian clubs that could not pass at least 1 qualifying round. For participation in the second round of the election, Poltava residents received 100 thousand euros, and for falling, they received 350 thousand euros.
The money earned by Shakhtar Donetsk was previously reported separately. Fotcalc brings some clarity to our information, suggesting that Pitmen will receive 21.6 million euros for the ten-year coefficient. So the total income of the Donetsk club will be 46.8 million. It is also worth noting that Zorya and Shakhtar can still increase their European Cup revenues through the sale of television rights. The amount earned from television broadcasts will only be known at the end of the season.
