Podense scored two goals from Olympiakos with a masterful placement
Olympiacos took the lead after El Kaabi’s goal and extended their lead over Backa Topola in the 40th minute with Podense sending the ball into the net with an excellent left-footed volley.
A draw against Backa Topola was enough for Olympiacos to secure their ticket to the play-offs of the “16” phase of the Conference League, but against the Serbs the red-whites played for a win and were entitled to do so.
El Kaabi opened the scoring in the 21st minute and in the 40th minute Daniel Pontense was able to shine as the Portuguese found open space and scored with an elusive left-footed volley which he sent the ball into the right corner 2:0 increased the opponent’s goal.
