Sidibe’s header against Brighton was voted the best Europa League goal in the group stage
Djibril Sidibe has had a special award in his collection since Friday afternoon (December 22nd), as the Frenchman’s header against Brighton was voted the best goal of the group stage according to a UEFA vote.
Although AEK fulfilled its European obligations by remaining in 4th place in the Europa League group, which resulted in its exclusion from the sequel, the Jibril Sidibe won a unique premiere.
In particular, the header that landed in the Brighton net in Union’s 3-2 win against England was voted the best goal of the group stage.
An award given by the 6,000 fans who took part in the UEFA vote, with the French right-back achieving the highest percentage.
The trio of the most beautiful goals is completed by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s scissor kick from Marseille in the “Velodrome” against Ajax and Luis Paquet’s goal from “Georgios Karaiskakis”, with which West Ham reduced the score for the final to 2-1 from Olympiakou.
