Roma beat Celtic in Europa League sixth round as Ferguson scores double
The sixth round match took place on Thursday, December 11. Europa League, Where Scottish “Celtic” meets Italian “Roman”. Gian Piero Gasperini’s team defeated its opponent with a score of 3:0.
Already in the first half, three goals were scored into the home team’s goal – in the 6th minute, defender Skales tried to clear the ball from his own penalty area, but in the end he beat his goalkeeper and helped Wolves take the lead.
Just before half-time, Irish striker Evan Ferguson made Celtic upset twice and made the scoring devastating. The Scottish club had several opportunities to improve their position, but first Engels missed the penalty and Iheanacho’s goal was later disallowed for offside.
Ukrainian national team player Artem Dovbik was not in the Roma squad due to his injury.
Roma took tenth place in the rankings, collecting 12 points. Celtic has 7 points, while the Scottish team is in 25th place.
