Eidracht loses 23 million euros despite Europa League victory
Eintracht Frankfurt won the Europa League, but recorded losses of 23 million euros, mainly due to measures against the corona virus.
The season for Eintracht Frankfurt is considered a complete success. The Eagles defeated Rangers in the Europa League in the Seville final, securing a place in the Champions League next season.
However, Eidracht continues to struggle with financial problems. According to Oliver Frankenbach, CFO of the Adler, a loss of 23 million euros is expected in the 2021/22 season. Last season there were losses of 36.1 million.
The group’s turnover increased to 235 million euros, but the turnover was reduced due to measures against the coronavirus. “We played almost half a season without a spectator” said Frankenbach.
An average of 26,162 spectators attended each game, and Deutsche Bank Park holds 51,500 spectators.
