The crazy scenario of Olympiacos and Maccabi Haifa in three different events in the same season
Olympiacos could face Maccabi Haifa in the Europa League group playoffs, but they could also face them in the Conference League in a crazy but possible scenario.
Olympiacos have their sights set on the games against Slovan Bratislava for the Europa League 3rd qualifying round. The red-whites found out on Monday (1 August) how they will play against the loser of the pair Maccabi Haifa – Apollon Limassol.
With the little Carlos Corberan, the players could meet the champions Israel again, from whom they were eliminated in the 2nd qualifying round of the Champions League, a possibility that Sportish had reported on Monday.
But there is also another scenario, according to which Olympiacos could meet Maccabi Haifa in a third competition in a season, i.e. in the Conference League.

The paths of the two could cross again for the third time in the third European club competition. If the team finishes 3rd in the Europa League groups, they are relegated to the play-offs of the Conference League Round of 16.
There it can meet the team that would have finished second in the conference league groups without a meeting afterwards, i.e. in the round of 16 and beyond, being ruled out. It’s a crazy scenario, especially at the stage we’re in, but it’s possible that Olympiacos and Maccabi Haifa will play for the third time.

Ukrainian defender Nottingham Forest Alexander Zinchenko He shared his feelings after his team beat Utrecht (2:1) in the main round of the Europa League.
