Europa League
Dnipro-1’s xG index is higher than the match-winning AEK
The day before, Dnipro-1 made its European cup debut, nominally losing 1:2 to the Cypriot AEK in the Europa League qualifying playoff match at home.
It is interesting that Dnipro-1’s expected goals in the match (xG) are even higher than their opponent – 2.03 vs 1.92.
Both teams hit each other’s goal 5 times, but the Ukrainians made more attempts – 16 to 20.
Also, Dnipro-1 had more possession (59.7%) and played more active passes (584 vs 285).
The guests tried to be more outspoken – 18.6% of their passes were long, while Dnipro-1 had 6.16%.
In addition, “sports clubs” more actively pressed the opponent – PPDA indexes of teams: 5.73 for Dnipro-1 and 10.79 for AEK.
Recall that the return match will be held a week later, on August 25, in Cyprus.
