Konstantin VIVCHARENKO: “Dynamo was not in Ukraine for a very long time, they wanted to go home”
Dynamo defender Konstantin Vivcharenko shared his expectations from the opening match of the White-Blues against SC Dnipro-1, which will be held in Lviv, in the new season of the Ukrainian Championship.
– The upcoming match will be Dynamo’s first home game since the end of last year. What emotions are you experiencing from this?
– Feelings are impossible to express in words, as they have not been in Ukraine for a very long time. Of course it’s nice to be back – it has its own atmosphere. We have traveled a lot but we really wanted to come back home.
– Do you have any fears about playing football in Ukraine? Suddenly the siren will sound and you will have to interrupt the game…
“To be honest, we don’t yet understand how it’s going to happen. I hope everything goes well, the sirens don’t interfere – and the score will be in our favor.
– How would you interpret the Europa League draw?
– There were no priorities regarding possible opponents. The guys joked that Fenerbahce and Sturm were caught again – only Fenerbahce fell (smiles). Nothing, a strong team we’ve already beaten. We will also play in the Europa League group only to win.
– You watched the drawing ceremony with the whole team. Is this the group that could qualify for the playoffs, or was it a certain disappointment?
– Good strong opponents. We will go out on the field, we will play our game and we will get results. And against whom to play – there is no difference.
– You made your debut for the main team, scored the first goal. At the same time, there is a rivalry with Vladislav Dubinchak on the left wing. It helps?
– Of course competition is always good, a plus for both players. We will prove who is stronger.
– Now Shakhtar has undergone a major roster change after an unsuccessful start in the new league. Do you consider Dnepr-1 to be one of the main competitors for the highest places?
– In principle, Shakhtar is Shakhtar and remains a pretty strong team. I can say the same for Dnipro-1, which has a lot of new players and a new coaching staff. So let’s go out and get results.
– Have you watched the Europa League qualifiers? What was missing to pass the Cyprus club in the Dnieper-1?
– Today we watched a clip from their game. Mister noted that the score was not in the game because Dnipro-1 is a strong team. We can say that Dnipros was not lucky, because they had a lot of luck and it will not be easy for us.
