Football League: Battle to stay at Northern Club, Veria at the top
Veria defeated Pierikos 2-1 to top the Football League’s Northern Club, while Almopos Arideas and Apollon Pontos are fighting to remain.
On Sunday (June 20th) the penultimate game of the Football League was completed with five games for the Northern Club. Veria beat Pierikos 2-1 to take the lead with 37 points.
The fight for survival continues. Apollon Pontous was defeated 2-0 by Panserraikos to remain penultimate on 17 points, as did Almopos Arideas, who lost 1-0 to Thesprotos. Apollon Pontou has less playing time and owes Triglia a game.
On Saturday (19/6), Kalamata stayed on top of Southern Club’s games despite a lifeline 2-0 loss to Egaleo. Kallithea was 0-0 with Niki Volou and missed the chance to close the gap to the top. Asteras Vlachioti has 16 points but stayed in 9th place, five points behind Niki Volou.
