Pele’s outcry after comment against Vinicius: “Football is joy, we will fight racism”
Taking a stand on the racist commentary on the show Chiringuito at the expense of Vinicius, Pele posted on social media that racism has no proper ground in sport.
The Real Madrid winger received a huge wave of encouragement and support. Vinicius, on social media following the ugly incident with the racist comment made by Pedro Bravo, president of the Spanish Football Managers’ Federation, calling him a ‘monkey’.
Pele tweeted and with the hashtag #BailaViniJr emphasized that sport will not leave racism fertile ground but will continue to fight it.
“Football is joy. it’s a dance It’s a real party. While racism still exists, let’s not stop smiling. And we will continue to fight racism this way: for our right to be happy.” wrote the Brazilian legend.
