Real: “We will take legal action against anyone who uses racist language about our players”
Real Madrid have taken a stand on the racist comment made by their footballer Vinicius Junior and stressed that they will take legal action.
Vinicius was the victim of a racist comment on the well-known Spanish show El Chiringuito, in which the president of the Spanish Football Managers’ Association, Pedro Bravo, called him a “monkey”.
Real took a stand, stressing that they accept any racist and xenophobic behavior while mentioning in their announcement that they will take legal action against anyone who expresses racism towards their player.
Real’s announcement in detail:
“Real Madrid reject any kind of racist and xenophobic expression and behavior in football, in sport and in life in general, like the comments made a few hours ago to our player Vinicius Junior.
Real Madrid want to show their love and support to Vinicius, a player who sees football as joy and respect.
Soccer is the most popular sport on the planet and should be an example of values. The club have instructed their legal department to take action against anyone using racist language towards our players.”
