Barcelona vice-president: ‘Financially realistic to take on Messi’
Convinced that Lionel Messi’s return to the ‘Camp Nou’ next summer is something Barcelona can afford, Blaugrana vice-president Eduard Romeu appeared with his statements.
Lionel Messi left Barcelona in the summer of 2021, breaking the hearts of Blaugrana fans, but the dream of returning to the Camp Nou at the end of the season, where his contract with Paris expires, lives on for the Catalans.
According to the team’s vice-president Eduard Romeu, it’s not a dream but something that is financially possible for the Barcelona team as long as the Argentine superstar is on the free agent list.
“It would be financially possible because if he came back it would be as a free agent. But it’s a decision for our coaching staff and the player to make.”
I’m not the one making the decisions, but it’s possible. Although I don’t have it in the budget. It is the club’s emblem. It will always be his home but whether he comes back is up to the manager.”stressed the vice-president of “Barca” with his statements to the radio station “Catalunya Radio” to add:
“There is room for transfers in January but we made a lot of effort over the summer. We need to study that. Barcelona will be financially healthy in five years.”
