Benzema receives Ballon d’Or from Zidane and Modric and is revered at the Bernabeu

The Santiago Bernabeu shook just before the start of the league game between Real and Sevilla, with Benzema and Courtois being idolized by the crowd for the Golden Ball and Lev Yasin respectively.

Last Monday, the footballing world bowed to the immense class of Karim Benzema, who received the Ballon d’Or for the first time in his career, while at the same ceremony organized by France Football, his Real teammate Thibaut Courtois was awarded the ‘Lev Yashin “-Award honored as the best goalkeeper of the year.

Both experienced great moments and a few 24 hours later and especially on the pitch of “Santiago Bernabeu” on Saturday evening (22/10) the leadership of the Merengues honored them even more before the start of the league game with Sevilla on matchday 11 when handing over the Awards… at home.


True legend and 1998 Ballon d’Or winner Zinedine Zidane was the one invited by Madrid and presented the Ballon d’Or to Benzema along with Luka Modric, while the one who presented Courtois with the ‘Lev Yassin’ trophy presented, another emblematic figure of the Proteusians, Iker Casillas.


It is noted that after the awards, all Real Madrid players were paraded to pose with Benzema, in a moving moment when even the torrential rain could not remove the gold dust that bathed the “Bernabeu”.
