Not even brave Seville could stop this year’s great Real, with Carlo Ancelotti’s side overcoming the Andalusians’ obstacle to win 3-1, while Vinicius had a great night.

Karim Benzema was injured but his aura (Zidane and Modric presented him with the Ballon d’Or while Casillas presented Thibaut Courtois with the ‘Lev Yassin’ award) was enough and more than enough to give the Real players wings and into the Game to come a great success against Sevilla.

Sampaoli’s players put up a tough fight against the champions but were defeated in the final and walked away with the bitter taste of defeat for the 15th time in their last appearances at the Santiago Bernabeu.

It was Modric who opened the scoring for Real after just 5 minutes, Sevilla struck back through Lamela in the 54th minute but the Madridians found their way to the three points with goals from Bathketh (79′) and Valverde (81′). . to get their 10th win in their first 11 La Liga games (they also have a draw), which puts them at +6 against Barcelona.

The match

Real were utterly dominant in the first half and the 1-0 was flattering for Sevilla, with Ancelotti’s side having 2-3 classic chances to score a second but blew in the final attempt and were content to be content with the joy of Modric’s goal. It was in the 5th minute that Vinicius Montiel stole the ball and charged into the opposition, only to find himself on the left side of the box and handed the Croat an elusive pass that batted Bono for his 34th time meet for the meringues.

The home side’s moment of composure came in the 54th minute as Montiel provided an excellent assist in defense and Lamela beat the outgoing Courtois with a wonderful free-kick to make it 1-1. These two players became the first Argentines to play the role of top scorer in a league game against Real at the Bernabeu since March 7, 1999 (a goal by Kili Gonzalez after a Gustavo López assist for Zaragoza).

In added time, Sevilla turned up the heat and put Real under pressure but that pressure didn’t last long as the Spanish and European champions took the reins and clinched a clean win within three minutes.

In the 79th minute, Vinicius provided a reciprocal assist in the 81st minute to make it 2-1 for Bathketh (no La Liga player has had more assists in all competitions since the start of last season than the Brazilian, who reached 21). The game ended in triumph for Real as Valverde scored a blitz to make it 3-1 and, with a shot from outside the box, found the net for a third straight league game.

It was his sixth goal in his first 11 league games (Real’s top scorer that season), with the Uruguayan becoming the first Real non-forward to reach those numbers since Guti (2000) and Fernando Hierro (1991).
