“Cooler, I’m Gerard. A lot of people have been talking about me in the last few weeks. So far I haven’t said anything but now I want to be the one to talk about me. I’ve always been a Barcelona fan, like many of you are I grew up in a family that loved football.

From a young age I didn’t want to be a footballer: I wanted to be a Barcelona player. I’ve been thinking a lot about this kid lately. About what little Gerard would think if he was told that all his dreams would come true.

That he would play in Barcelona’s first team, that he would win every cup, that he would become European and world champion. That he would play alongside the best players in history, that he would become one of the captains, that he would make friends for life“, Pique first emphasized through a message on his personal Twitter page and continued:

“It’s been 25 years since I came to Barcelona. I’ve gone and come back. Football gave me everything, Barcelona gave me everything, you fans gave me everything. And now that this little boy’s dreams have come true I want to tell you that I’ve decided it’s time to end this journey.

I’ve always said there will be no other team after Barcelona and there will be. Saturday’s game will be my last at the Camp Nou. I’ll just be a fan I will support the team, I will pass on the love of Barcelona to my children as my family did to me.

And you know me Sooner or later I’ll be back. See you at Camp Nou. Long live Barcelona, always.”

It is noted that Pique will leave the Blaugrana after sharing moments of glory and pride with her, winning a total of 24 titles: 8 Spanish leagues, 7 Spanish cups, 3 Champions Leagues, 3 European Super Cups and 3 Club World Cups.

According to journalist Chique Rodriguez, Pique said goodbye to his teammates at a dinner on Wednesday, with the veteran stopper making the decision to terminate his contract with the Blaugrana until the end of the season.
