Barcelona 2-0 Almeria: Farewell to Pique with a win

Barcelona put in an excellent performance and said goodbye to Gerard Pique in the perfect way as he drove to victory 2-0 opposite to Almeria for the 13th matchday of the league.

The Catalans found two goals in the 2nd half through Ousmane Dembele and Frenkie de Jong but had plenty of scoring chances.

They only won a penalty after a handball by Kaiki in the 7th minute, but Robert Lewandowski sent the ball over the bar and out of bounds. Ousmane Dembele had two big moments where he failed to put the ball in the net from a good position, while Pedri also had some chances.

At the other end, the visitors only had a hat-trick from Largi Ramadani, who was beaten by Marc Andre ter Stegen.

The night went well until the 84th minute when Xavi ordered Pique to be substituted. The Camp Nou rose to pay their respects to the 36-year-old keeper, who wore the captain’s armband again in 789 games of his career (667 at club level).
