Laoth has not been named in La Liga games since his last refereeing
Mateusz Laoth’s name is missing from next weekend’s La Liga games as the Spanish referee who has been in the spotlight lately is ‘punished’ by the federation.
The Spanish referee has been banned from the upcoming La Liga matchday Matthew Laoth who has been in the limelight lately mostly for the cards he pulls out with ease in the games where the referee is appointed.
It is typical that he has dealt 35 cards in the last three games he has managed, while he dealt 16 cards in last week’s Barcelona derby with Espanyol while being sacked for the Copa Del Ray on Wednesday (1/4). Sevilla coach Jorge Sampaoli came on after just 17 minutes.
Laoth has been ‘punished’ by the federation for his last refereeing assignment and it remains to be seen how long he will remain in the Spaniards’ ‘fridge’. We should underline that the international referee, who was also present at the World Cup, was not used as a VAR referee in any game of the La Liga weekend.
