Villarreal – Real 2: 1: tour de force and victory start in Theramika
Villarreal was the big winner in the great game against Real and shot up to 3rd place in La Liga with a game in hand.
In a satisfying game at Theramika on La Liga match day 16, Villarreal took the win 2-1 over Real and jumped three teams into 4th place, albeit with a game in hand.
The “Yellow Submarine” convinced in attack and could have scored more goals had the players been more relaxed in the final phase. The first 20 minutes belonged entirely to the hosts, who had a very good moment with Danny Parrego, a Francis Coquelin hit against the post and a good shot from Gerard Moreno.
Real’s response was a back four, with Ender Militao playing at right-back in place of the injured Lucas Vathketh, meaning the Merengues were without a Spaniard in the starting XI for the first time in their history.
Villarreal continued to miss out on big chances, with Jeremy Pino trying to get past Thibaut Courtois in a tackle instead of the post and Karim Benzema looking like a spectator in the game at the other end. In the 40th minute, the Frenchman eliminated Vinicius in a foursome, but the Brazilian was beaten by Pepe Reina.
The goals owed in the first 45 minutes were scored in the second. At the beginning of the half, Pino made it 1-0 with a shot from close range. Ten minutes later, the VAR asked the referee to see a hand from Juan Foyt as he pulled out Vinicius, which continued as Benzema failed to score in a goalless home. The penalty made him the deadly hero as he hit the target to make it 1-1.
In the next phase, the roles were reversed. Foyt rolled in the cross, David Alaba slipped in to block the ball and Gerard Moreno smashed Courtois to make it 2-1.
The game picked up a frantic pace, with the ball bouncing and both teams coming close to scoring the fourth goal of the game. But that didn’t even come in the 9th minute of added time (although the referee indicated seven), when Arnaud Danzouma countered, firing Courtois from 30 meters into the opposition’s penalty area, where he had gone up for a corner. but the ball went wide

Real Madrid have 20-year-old Robert Renan on their shortlist for central defense
Real Madrid have suffered a major blow to their central defense due to injuries and one of the things they have on their list ahead of January is the loan of 20-year-old Brazilian central defender Robert Renan from Zenit.
After the serious injuries to David Alaba and Ender Militao, Real Madrid have entered the transfer market to sign a central defender.
One of the cases that the Merengues are considering, according to AS, is 20-year-old Brazilian central defender Robert Renan, who plays for Zenit St. Petersburg. Madrid initially wants to bring him in with a loan and a purchase option for next summer.
The young footballer is exactly the right person to strengthen the Merengues as he is left-footed and can develop into a very good footballer. This particular formula would also satisfy Zenit, but there is a non-football problem.
Groups linked to the Russian state continue to face sanctions from the European Union (and the US) over the military invasion of Ukraine. Specifically, teams cannot receive an amount over 108,000 euros.
Zenit is owned by Gazprom, one of the most famous oil companies (in the world) controlled by the Russian state.

Barcelona is threatened with exclusion from the new Champions League because of FFP
According to the German newspaper “Die Welt”, Barcelona is threatened with exclusion from the new Champions League due to violations of Financial Fair Play. However, the Catalans are not aware of the specific risk.
A few hours after the legal recognition before the Court of Justice of the European Union of the European Super League, a project that Barcelona and Real Madrid have “operated” from the beginning until today, the Blaugrana are in adventure.
A publication by German newspaper Die Welt reports that the Catalans are at risk of being banned from the new Champions League (for up to three years) due to Financial Fair Play violations. Barcelona announced gigantic profits (a whopping 304 million euros), but according to the report, UEFA will audit the finances as the income must only come from “football activities”.
Barcelona reported on its balance sheet revenue from “Barca Studios”, the project that manages the team’s audiovisual material, such as the team’s official channel (Barca TV).
Sources in Barcelona management told Mundo Deportivo that they were unaware of the scenario in question.
