Araujo’s move to Barcelona was only completed…18 seconds late
Barcelona had reached an agreement with Los Angeles Galaxy to sign Mexican Julián Araujo but an 18-second delay in transmitting documents meant the transmission failed.
The winter transfer window closed for players signed at Barcelona on their radar last Tuesday (31/01) for 21-year-old Mexican right-back Julian Araujo from Los Angeles Galaxy.
The two sides had agreed on everything but the transfer was called off as there was an 18-second delay in exchanging documents, according to the Catalans’ sporting director Mateu Alemany. Of course, there is an open window for FIFA to allow the transfer to be completed.
