Atletico – Thelta 2: 0: Lodi cleared for the powerful Madrid
After Renan Lodi found his way into the net twice and Zofri Kontogbia was involved in both of his team’s goals, Atletico beat Thelta 2-0 and remain strong in the Champions League.
Just 24 hours after beating Manchester United 1-1 (Champions League 16 opener) which injured them with Elanga’s strike just before the final, Atlético returned to home games looking for a balmy win and found it.
Thelta, who threatened her a little on Saturday evening in the “Wanda Metropolitano” for the 26th LaLiga game, “helped” Diego Simeone’s team to be extremely effective in their own few – but good – phases and brought victory with them 2-0 goals by Lodi.
It is worth noting that the Brazilian became the first defender to play with Atletico after Sergio Ramos in January 2017 (he had scored Real’s two goals in the 2-1 win over Malaga with an equal number of assists from Kroos), who scored twice in a La Liga game for the first time since May 2021, her home remains untouched in two consecutive league games.
The game
The first part was weak at times, with the hosts being the side that had the initiative of the moves and looked for the goal and was justified in 36′ and found nets in their only good phase of the period.
Kontogbia took the ball just under the bar and tried to find Lodi with a long ball, with the Brazilian gaining possession in the wide area and with a great movement and impeccable placement, he defeated Dituro 1-0.
With that result, both sides went to the dressing room at the break, with Kontogbia and Lodi signing the Rochiblancos’ second goal, ending an hour of play.
This time the cooperation worked immediately, because from the precise ball that the Frenchman looked for in the direction of the large penalty area on Lodi, the 23-year-old left-back led to the 2-0 with a shot with the left flank on the move.
A result that “Atleti” didn’t find difficult to keep as the Galicians were out of the game and woke up after 80 minutes, which was already late, with the hosts controlling the game and absorbing any pressure to secure a second straight win for the held in a 4-lane orbit for the first time since November.

The Rojiblancos were superior for most of the game, but in the first half the visitors managed to keep a clean sheet. However, at the start of the second period, Marcos Llorente, one of Diego Simeone’s two half-time substitutes, scored the first goal.

Real Madrid have 20-year-old Robert Renan on their shortlist for central defense
Real Madrid have suffered a major blow to their central defense due to injuries and one of the things they have on their list ahead of January is the loan of 20-year-old Brazilian central defender Robert Renan from Zenit.
After the serious injuries to David Alaba and Ender Militao, Real Madrid have entered the transfer market to sign a central defender.
One of the cases that the Merengues are considering, according to AS, is 20-year-old Brazilian central defender Robert Renan, who plays for Zenit St. Petersburg. Madrid initially wants to bring him in with a loan and a purchase option for next summer.
The young footballer is exactly the right person to strengthen the Merengues as he is left-footed and can develop into a very good footballer. This particular formula would also satisfy Zenit, but there is a non-football problem.
Groups linked to the Russian state continue to face sanctions from the European Union (and the US) over the military invasion of Ukraine. Specifically, teams cannot receive an amount over 108,000 euros.
Zenit is owned by Gazprom, one of the most famous oil companies (in the world) controlled by the Russian state.

Barcelona is threatened with exclusion from the new Champions League because of FFP
According to the German newspaper “Die Welt”, Barcelona is threatened with exclusion from the new Champions League due to violations of Financial Fair Play. However, the Catalans are not aware of the specific risk.
A few hours after the legal recognition before the Court of Justice of the European Union of the European Super League, a project that Barcelona and Real Madrid have “operated” from the beginning until today, the Blaugrana are in adventure.
A publication by German newspaper Die Welt reports that the Catalans are at risk of being banned from the new Champions League (for up to three years) due to Financial Fair Play violations. Barcelona announced gigantic profits (a whopping 304 million euros), but according to the report, UEFA will audit the finances as the income must only come from “football activities”.
Barcelona reported on its balance sheet revenue from “Barca Studios”, the project that manages the team’s audiovisual material, such as the team’s official channel (Barca TV).
Sources in Barcelona management told Mundo Deportivo that they were unaware of the scenario in question.
