Barcelona – Sevilla 3:0: Absolute title advantage with eight points difference
Barcelona defeated Sevilla 3-0 at the Camp Nou and used defeats to Real Madrid and Real Sociedad to put the La Liga title race far behind.
Barcelona did their duty at the “Camp Nou” and against Sevilla 3-0 opened the gap to eight points from Real and eleven from Real Sociedad after 20 games in La Liga.
The defeats of the two chasing sides earlier in the day made the Blaugrana win imperative at a crucial juncture, ahead of Real’s trip to the Club World Cup and resuming European commitments (now in the Europa League).
Jorge Sampaoli’s side are capable of the best and the worst this year and it showed in Part 1 where Yassin Bounu went unbeaten twice, mainly with Robert Lewandowski and Ronald Araujo.
In the 2nd part, the changes of the Argentine technician favored … Barcelona, which approached the home of the Moroccan goalkeeper with more claims. In such a case, Jordi Alba made it 1-0 with four goals in the 58th minute, opening the way to victory for Blaugrana.
A little later, Gavi and Rafinha, who flanked Lewandowski in the attacking trio, were also anointed scorers and “secured” a win before the games with Manchester United, the only negative being the injury of Sergio Busquets in the 8th minute.
