Villarreal – Barcelona 0: 1: Unstoppable in Spain before the Europa League
Barcelona have scrapped a difficult venue in Villarreal’s Thermic and, with a 1-0 win, go into the Europa League game against Manchester United with an ideal mentality.
Barcelona achieved their 11th consecutive win in Spanish competition 1-0 in “Theramica” against Villarreal on the 21st match day of the La Liga and is now heading for the game against Manchester United in the Europa League with the best mentality.
The game was highly spectacular, with pace and chances for both sides. In one of them, in the 18th minute, Robert Lewandowski found Pedri and the young Spaniard scored to make it 1-0. The Polish striker had a tremendous chance, as did Jose Luis Morales, who was denied by his own foursome.
In the 2nd half, the “yellow subs” leveled the game and gradually restricted Barcelona in their field, although they didn’t often threaten. In one of the few good moments, in the final minutes, Samou Chukwueze sent the ball into the net but the goal didn’t count because it was offside. With VAR also saving a late penalty, the Catalans drove to a 1-0 win that puts them within striking distance of their title chasers.
