The season is over for Coquelin after his injury at Villarreal – Barcelona

The injury sustained by Francis Coquelin in Villarreal’s game against Barcelona proved extremely serious as he tore his cruciate ligament and will be out for the rest of the season.

The game against Barcelona on Sunday evening (02/11) didn’t go well for Villarreal. Not just because they failed to collect a point or points against the La Liga leaders, but because they suffered a heavy defeat in the first half.

That of Francis Coquelin, who was injured after colliding with Fran Cassier, with yellow submarine people raising concerns about his health, which were confirmed a day later.


The France defensive midfielder has been subjected to tests which revealed he had torn the cruciate ligament in his right knee, meaning he will undergo surgery and be out for at least six months.
