Osasuna – Real 0-2: Two late goals kept them in the title race

Federico Valverde and Marco Asensio redeemed Real in Pamplona against Osasuna and kept them alive in the La Liga title race with a 2-0 win.

Real found things grim in Pamplona Osasunabut with a goal from Federico Valverde and one from Marco Asensio he was able to win in the end 2-0 for the 22nd matchday of the league.

The champions were without Karim Benzema and injured Toni Kroos and Ferlan Mendy, with Carlo Ancelotti again providing alchemy in the line-up. Osasuna put up a strong resistance and managed to keep the balance in the 1st half as well, keeping the meringues away from Sergio Herrera’s goal.

Reals a good moment and the irritation between mainly Vinicius and his opponents kept it 0-0 in the first 45 minutes. The 2nd half started with a similar picture, however Hakuba Arasate’s players were a bit more aggressive.

Thibaut Courtois had saved a good shot and a goal on the post midway through the 2nd half and punishment was not long in coming. In the 78th minute, Valverde received Vinicius’ assist and opened the scoring with a penalty. Osasuna didn’t find an answer and Real scored two more goals on the counterattack. One of Vinicius did not count due to borderline offside, the other of Marco Asensio shaped the final result.
