Barcelona: Xavi praises Araujo for his performance against Real
Barcelona took the lead against Real Madrid in qualifying and Xavi once again praised Ronald Araujo for his performance.
An Ender Militao own goal gave Barcelona a 1-0 win in the first Copa del Rey semi-final. The Catalans defended for 90 minutes and held off the Spanish champions in the Clásico without a decent finish.
Overall, the defensive function of Xavi’s players was excellent but the Blaugrana coach highlighted one player’s performance.
It was none other than Ronald Araujo, who played exceptionally well and severely limited Madrid’s attacking options.
“Ronald Araújo is one of the best centre-backs in the world, he’s at the top level. The whole defensive line worked very well but Araújo was crucial.”said Xavi.
