Xavi: ‘Methodically we can win the championship, so why not?’
Xavi was overly optimistic, stressing that mathematically the goal of the championship is not yet lost for Barcelona.
Barcelona meet Galatasaray in the Europa League round of 16 on Thursday (3/10) with Xavi emphasizing in the press conference that Barcelona can win the championship.
The Catalan manager saw his team move up to third place in the table thanks to three straight La Liga wins, which brought optimism to the club. At the same time, he claimed that since taking over the technical leadership of the Blaugrana, there has not been a footballer who refused to sign.
“The math says we can win the championship, so why not? The others fail, but not Real. You have time on your side. It is very difficult but not impossible to win them.”
