Xavi: ‘I prefer 4-0 or 5-4, but what’s the problem with 1-0?’
Xavi has commented on Barcelona’s 1-0 defeat in the Copa del Rey semi-final first leg against Real ahead of Sunday’s La Liga Clasico (19/3), insisting the result is as good as having more goals for his team achieved.
A few days after the clash at the Bernabeu for the first semi-final of the Copa del Rey between Barcelona and Real, the two teams meet on Sunday (March 19, 10 p.m., Novasports Prime And Live from Sportish) at the Camp Nou for the Clasico in its context League.
In their last clash, the “blaugrana” won 1-0, while in the previous two (Supercopa final and La Liga first round) they also won 3-1.
Referring to the latest result in the game between them, Xavi stressed that even a one-goal win is an important result.
“I prefer 4-0 or 5-4, but what’s the problem with 1-0? It’s a fantastic result. We were very good but people stick to one game, the semi-finals.”
What’s the problem with 1-0? Barcelona won their first European Cup 1-0 with Koeman’s goal and nothing happened.” said the Catalan coach.
“I’m expecting a maybe more aggressive Real. That will be good for them, maybe not so much for us. We won’t change our style, we won’t close, we always push up.”
