He played with fire, sobbed but didn’t burn. Atletico struggled against the incredibly competitive and hard-fought Cadiz on Friday night in their 28th La Liga game, but got up and capitalized on their moments (fewer than the visitors), winning 2-1 and moving up to 3rd place in the table, few Days before the big rematch with Manchester United for 16th place in the Champions League.

The game
Atletico got off to an ideal start after taking the lead in the 3rd minute when Felix regained possession after a tragic mistake by Ledesma and beat the Cadiz goalkeeper 1-0 with a spot from a side position.
That goal, instead of giving the hosts a boost, convinced the visitors, who took over after the first quarter and had three dangerous shots in Espino (17′), Negredo (28′) and Sobrino (32′).
Neither of them needed Oblak’s intervention after leaving the home side, but football did justice in the 45th minute when Cadiz scored the equalizer they deserved from an appearance when Negredo followed a cross from Espino from the left Negredo with a wonderful 1:1 scoring head turn.
The situation did not change in the second half and Cadiz was the one who came stronger and even had a very good moment in the 58th minute with a shot from Indrissi (Oblak had a hard time saving), Atletico found the goal against the flow of the game . .
That came in the 68th minute after a beautiful combination from Simeone’s players that resulted in a shot from Korea and a save from Ledesma, with De Paul taking the rebound and delivering a powerful shot into the box on the only opportunity to make it 2-1 met Rochiblancos throughout the second part.
The visitors then pressed for an equalizer and in 68′ Jimenez had to block Hernandez’s shot with a header down the line, while in 80′ Alcarath’s excellent shot went just over the crossbar of Oblak’s goal.
In the 88th minute, Atletico were down by 10 players after Serrano was sent off, but despite suffering in the final, they persevered and took the three-pointer that took them to 3rd place and +3 from 4th on the leaderboard. Barcelona.

Real Madrid have 20-year-old Robert Renan on their shortlist for central defense
Real Madrid have suffered a major blow to their central defense due to injuries and one of the things they have on their list ahead of January is the loan of 20-year-old Brazilian central defender Robert Renan from Zenit.
After the serious injuries to David Alaba and Ender Militao, Real Madrid have entered the transfer market to sign a central defender.
One of the cases that the Merengues are considering, according to AS, is 20-year-old Brazilian central defender Robert Renan, who plays for Zenit St. Petersburg. Madrid initially wants to bring him in with a loan and a purchase option for next summer.
The young footballer is exactly the right person to strengthen the Merengues as he is left-footed and can develop into a very good footballer. This particular formula would also satisfy Zenit, but there is a non-football problem.
Groups linked to the Russian state continue to face sanctions from the European Union (and the US) over the military invasion of Ukraine. Specifically, teams cannot receive an amount over 108,000 euros.
Zenit is owned by Gazprom, one of the most famous oil companies (in the world) controlled by the Russian state.

Barcelona is threatened with exclusion from the new Champions League because of FFP
According to the German newspaper “Die Welt”, Barcelona is threatened with exclusion from the new Champions League due to violations of Financial Fair Play. However, the Catalans are not aware of the specific risk.
A few hours after the legal recognition before the Court of Justice of the European Union of the European Super League, a project that Barcelona and Real Madrid have “operated” from the beginning until today, the Blaugrana are in adventure.
A publication by German newspaper Die Welt reports that the Catalans are at risk of being banned from the new Champions League (for up to three years) due to Financial Fair Play violations. Barcelona announced gigantic profits (a whopping 304 million euros), but according to the report, UEFA will audit the finances as the income must only come from “football activities”.
Barcelona reported on its balance sheet revenue from “Barca Studios”, the project that manages the team’s audiovisual material, such as the team’s official channel (Barca TV).
Sources in Barcelona management told Mundo Deportivo that they were unaware of the scenario in question.
