Karim Benzema scored a hat-trick in under seven minutes to guide Real Madrid to a 6-0 win over Valladolid ahead of their Copa del Rey semi-final clash with Barcelona.

Karim Benzema’s first game of this year’s Ramadan made him overjoyed again as he scored a hat-trick in 6.5 minutes to lead Real to a comfortable win 6-0 on her Valladolid for the 27th matchday of the league.

The French striker opened the scoring in the 29th minute after a close-range assist from Vinicius, in the 32nd minute he made it 3-0 with a long shot and in the 36th minute he completed the hat-trick goal with his back to goal from the small area.

Rodrigo had opened the scoring for the hosts in the 22nd minute (Valladolid had previously hit the post) and with four first-half goals there was no doubt in the eventual winner of the encounter at the Santiago Bernabeu, which began with a celebration honoring the Spanish Cup winner at junior level, coached by Alvaro Arbeloa.

Real slowed the pace in the 2nd half but found more goals, of which they scored two, through Marco Asensio in the 73rd minute and Lucas Bathketh in stoppage time. The 6-0 final gave them the right psychological boost to travel to the Camp Nou next Wednesday to overturn a 1-0 Copa del Rey semi-final draw against Barcelona.
